Happy Birthday to Eric!!

Can he really be 3??? We arrived home from Iowa on Sunday and had to celebrate a birthday on Tuesday. We knew a big kids party would be hard to pull off, so we decided to just share the evening with our best friends, the Bulls and the Birettos.

On Monday, I took Eric to the store to order a cake. He wasn't sure what kind of cake he wanted, but it didn't take too long to make up his mind. At first, he wanted a Madagascar cake, but Mom squashed that idea when the bakery lady gave us the price tag! He went back and forth between a pirate and dinosaur and finally chose the dinosaur when he realized that it came with a "bolcano" and two dinosaurs that roared. We then had to go to the party store to find something to match the cake, not as easy as I thought! It turned out okay and I think we all had a great time.

And yes, Daniel was in attendance at the party, he just didn't get in the photo with the other kids!

It is so hard to believe that our little boy is actually 3. When he was born, we had just moved to Colorado and were adjusting to not being a military family. We were also fortunate to have my brother and his family around. Eric is growing into quite a handful! He loves to play pirates and knights. There are lots of sword fights and jousts around the house most days. He also likes to make up tall tales about things he has done or people he knows. I know I should write those things down, but somehow I think I will never forget and then I do. Eric is such a precious gift to our family, even as he turns 3! We all love him very much and can't wait until Daniel is bigger to see all three of them together. Life should get interesting!
