Happy New Year and Happy Birthday Daniel! Will this be a new tradition at our house, a birthday party on New Years Eve? We think it might be. We decided to throw a party to celebrate both a birthday and the New Year. We used different colored balloons (thanks John, Amy and Brady for the decorating ideas!) and decorated the kitchen and family room with them. We also had cupcakes rather than one big cake. We had 5 other families with a total of 11 kids (2 families canceled at the last minute due to illness). We ate and celebrated with Daniel and then sent the kiddos to the basement with two hired sitters to play while the adults played Wii. We had a fun-filled night sharing an important birthday and the coming of a New Year with friends who have become a huge part of our life here in Colorado!
