End of the Season

As Anna gets older, we have lots of new "firsts" as a family. This fall brought the first of getting to soccer practice every Saturday. It was a 6-week long stint of practicing and then playing a scrimage game with the other girls. Anna was the youngest player, all of the other girls were already in kindergarten this fall and a couple had already turned 6. She did very well considering her age and her personality of easing into things. I didn't get to make her last game, but Kevin went and took lots of pictures. Each player got a soccer medal and she has been so excited about it ever since. Here are some pictures from her last day and a team photo.

One of their drills during practice is playing freeze tag, sort of. As the girls kick their ball around the field, the coach tags them. They have to pick up the ball and hold it over their head until another teammate kicks their ball through the frozen person's legs. Anna was very shy when she started this game earlier in the season, but had fun playing it by the end of the season.

While Anna played soccer, Eric had fun on the playground. There weren't any other little brothers his age, so he had to play with some bigger boys. He didn't seem to mind, especially when they brought "cool" big boy toys to play with. Here are some pics of him playing around. As you see, he is wearing his favorite shoes!
